What carries over, and what was reset?

Separate your permanent upgrade collection from your current chapter position. The October 9 migration reset chapter progress for everyone; this is not evidence that an individual save is broken. Coins earned from quota now belong to each player and remain available across runs and different crews.

A card unlock is not the same as an item already carried into the level. Buy upgrades in the tree, then coordinate which cards occupy the shared table. The release confirms equipment branches for cauldrons, carts, weapons, tools, potions and booty; it does not publish every node or price.

The new between-level workflow

Use the level summary to review earnings before spending. The following sequence follows the official release; choosing a transport-heavy or weapon-heavy loadout is your crew’s decision, not a proven optimal build.

1. Finish the levelRing the summary bell and review individual earnings.Do not treat a teammate’s coin balance as your own.
2. Open the upgrade treeChoose a permanent unlock or upgrade. The confirmed transport branch goes cauldron → cart → monkey carrier. Read current costs in game.
3. Fill the shared tablePlace cards from personal hands into communal slots.Cards become ordinary equipment available to anyone in the level.
4. Confirm readinessUse the small bell at your seat; ring again to cancel readiness. The next level starts when everyone is ready.

Four shared slots, not four slots per player

The base table has four slots regardless of crew size. Before readying, compare the whole table rather than assuming every player can bring four separate items. If you cover another player’s card, their card returns to them; the release does not describe that replacement as destroying an unlock.

An extra slot purchased through upgrades helps the entire team while its buyer remains in the session. Do not plan a later crew’s capacity around a player who has left. Maximum slot count and exact purchase costs are not supplied in the announcement. Cards above the health bar indicate free equipment for the next level.

A team wipe can lead to a day restart

Everyone present takes part in the restart vote, rather than the decision belonging only to the host. The announced recovery is half of the quota already delivered, returned as coins for shopping before another table setup.

Do not include unreturned cargo in that recovery estimate. The developers did not publish the vote threshold, tie handling, rounding or distribution formula, so this guide does not calculate individual refunds. Restarting a day is also different from reviving one teammate or reconnecting after a network failure.

You do not need the beta for these core features

The October 6 announcement was explicitly a test branch. The October 9 release moved core meta-progression into the main game. If friends cannot join one another, first compare their selected Steam branches; the beta instructions require the whole lobby to match.

Beta cosmetic customization details are not automatically evidence of main-branch features. For this guide, the later release confirms a veteran skin and a tutorial-completion skin, but not a full cosmetic catalog or redemption procedure.

Frequently asked questions

Do quota coins stay with me if I change crews?

Yes. The October 9 release says personal quota coins persist between runs regardless of who you play with.

Does an extra card slot stay available after its buyer leaves?

The official promise is limited to the time its buyer is present in the session. Do not assume it permanently increases another crew’s table.
