Known behavior and practical response
September 10 replaced the model and head-clamp appearance, added a dedicated leap animation, changed sounds and screen vignette, and changed the loot after removal.
- Recognize the leap and attached state, leave yourself space to recover, and tell your crew what happened. The patch does not identify an exact removal input or which loot drops.
Is Head Crab still a spider?
No. September 10 rebuilt it as a jellyfish. Crab and the achievement name Head Man are separate labels; neither is evidence that they are this creature. The public note does not supply a removal key or the new drop names.
Location and level evidence
Enemy sets and bosses are level-specific after September 10. The announcements do not publish a complete location/level assignment; an unknown location is not a confirmed absence.
- Exact level, boss role, damage and range remain unverified.
Dated changes
Review the date as well as the behavior: a historical adjustment is not a new September mechanic.
